The Reef Ball Shcool Program, a comprehensive and immersive two-day event, successfully concluded on 1st August 2024. This impactful program saw the planting of 72 corals in 12 strategically placed reef balls at Pelong Rock Site, Pantai Serasa, Muara. The initiative kicked off on 16th May 2024, when students were given the unique opportunity to engage hands on in construction of reef balls
Throughout the program, students not only built the reef balls but also participated actively in coral propagation activities. The culmination of their efforts was witnessed on August1, when the students observed the deployment of the reef balls into the ocean, marking a significant step in marine conservation.
A total of 21 selected Year 10 students were chosen to participate in this enriching experience. Throught their involvement, these young environmental stewards developed a heightened sense of ressonsibility and commitment to preserving the natural world. The program has not only contributed to marine ecosystem restoration but has also instilled valuable environmental ethics in the participants, fostering a generation of conscientious and proactive guaridans of out planet.
