ST ANDREW’S School recently held its National Day celebration at Dato Ong Kim Kee Hall. Present to officiate the celebration was Dr Haji Ampuan Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah, a member of Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) Council and Director of Academy of Brunei Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
Also present were the deputy chairman, principal, deputy principal and senior headmasters of the school.
The ceremony started with the singing of national anthem and school songs as well as a recitation of a Doa by Shahrul Anuar bin Hj Minudin, Head of Islamic Religious Department of St Andrew’s School.
This was followed by a welcoming speech by Dr Haji Ampuan Brahim who said, “The National Day celebration this year promotes cooperation and unity among the people of Brunei Darussalam, especially in the parade and other’s national activities. Not only that, it also symbolises a harmonious and prosperous nation.”
He added the importance of the National Day will be more felt to the younger generation because they will be the leader of the country in the future.
The event was concluded with the declaration of National Day oath led by Adrian bin Azaharaini and a tour of exhibition by the guest of honour.
